A Personal Reflection on Feb 2nd, 2017 [Wesley's birth]

Updated: Apr 12, 2018

To be real, the term, "pregnancy with complications" is misleading; pregnancy itself IS a complication. The term safe delivery is absurd; there's no such thing as an easy or safe delivery. We say that because nothing happened during delivery gratefully, but every delivery is tough and risky.

What is weird to me is that after such a high-risk life event, the mother smiles seeing the baby. The newborn's cry stops upon being embraced into the mother's chest.

Nobody is alone. God has put us in the boundaries of family, friends, and church from the very beginning of our life. Everyone has at least one strong connection with their mom; it's the most basic birth right. Bound by such a self-sacrificial and deep love, we all came into the world. Not to mention the people who visited us and celebrated our lives, our church members, the parents' friends, yes the ones who we might never even know.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:14).
